SCORING GUIDE

The scoring guide is meant to be somewhat flexible and based on your style of art, skill, and desires for how you wish to interact with the game. If you worked extra hard on a monochrome illustration, then feel free to issue a scoring to what you feel is fair. Inversely, if you feel your creation could have more polish, then feel free to score it a little lower. With flexible scoring we require some sort of context be included and expect a level of honesty from all players!

BP/QTZ TRACKER & POINTS CALCULATOR

Players are required to manage their own BP/Qtz tracker within the game through the provided master file in Google Sheets. Qtz transactions must be approved by an admin in The Hooden Discord server in the #qtz-transfer channel. Instructions are provided in the channel.

BREATH POINTS (BP)

BP is earned when you create artwork, animation, crafts, or literature. This is used to keep track of what level you, the player, are at! Think of it like your status and experience as a mage. The higher your level, the more things you can do within the game, such as create new hooden or have access to higher level markings and augments.

Only the artist earns BP, and collaborators must split BP earned based what was contributed. BP cannot be exchanged for Hooden, Qtz, or real currency.

Only artwork of hooden can have points earned. Humans can only count for points if the human is the hooden's past form. Familiar and accessory bonuses only apply to hooden.

Apprentice - 50 BP

Journeyman - 150 BP

Proficient - 300 BP

Scholar - 600 BP

Mage - 1800 BP

Archmage - 3000 BP

Master of the Arcane - 5000 BP

SCORING BREAKDOWN

Misc Fixed Values

In a drawing with hooden interacting with another is +10 BP per hooden
In literature (such as short stories, comics, and poetry), for every 40 words written you earn +1 BP
For every familiar and accessory drawn you earn +2 BP
Comics are scored per panel

Portrait/Bust Base Points

Shows less than 70% of a character

Sketch: +2 BP
Flat Color: +5 BP
Shaded: +10 BP

Fullbody Base Points

Shows at least 70% of a character

Sketch: +5 BP
Flat Color: +8 BP
Shaded: +15 BP

Background

None/Photo/Reused: +0 BP
Simple scene: +12 BP
Detailed scene: +20 BP

3D Art & Crafts

This includes things like digital 3D rendering, fabric crafts, sculptures, and other things you can hold in your hands.

+20 BP per creation
Background bonuses apply if you curate a background specifically for the craft.

Animation

Simple (e.g. a few frames that have your hooden bounce, blinking, very little movement, etc.): +7 BP
Moderate (e.g. A walk cycle, an obvious movement that uses gestures and body language, etc.): +30 BP
Complex (e.g. Several frames with movement that is instrumental in telling a story): +60 BP
Background bonuses apply

QUARTZ (Qtz)

This is essentially the in-game currency for the various mechanics at your disposal. It is earned through the art you make in the ARPG. Qtz can be exchanged for things such as augments for your hooden, accessories, familiars, or even other hooden from other players!

To exchange Qtz with other players, it must be approved by an admin in the #qtz-transfer channel in The Hooden Discord server. You may not purchase or exchange Qtz for real currency, nor can Qtz be exchanged for BP. Qtz cannot be used with guest or admin sales.
